Hello, my name is Jessica. Welcome to my Web Site.
I believe as a teacher my responsibility is to be a role model, academic guide, and disciplinarian when needed. I will be prepared when my students enter the class. I will create a safe environment in the classroom so that my students can feel free to express their thoughts and ideas. I will also make the information taught interesting and develop activities and projects that are exciting. I will provide classroom rules with clear expectations. If a child chooses not to follow the expectations or rules, it is my responsibility to know the school’s discipline procedures and consistently follow and enforce them.
I believe that it is my duty to stay current with new ideas with technology and continue to educate myself with strategies and practices within my field. I will do these things by attending workshops, completing graduate level courses, and collaborating with other teachers and share best practices that are used in the classrooms. I believe school administration should provide the opportunities for teachers to learn the new strategies and techniques necessary to help students be most successful. By working together it promotes the school climate to be a successful and professional atmosphere.
I believe that all students should have the opportunity to learn regardless of race, creed, ethnicity, gender, or abilities. As a teacher I want to promote a classroom that recognizes that all students have different influences that make them unique. My job is to teach students that those influences should not impose judgment because they are not better or worse, right or wrong, just different –and that is a good thing.
